Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, was appointed president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (海角官方首页) in September 2020 after serving as interim president for eight months. He succeeded Jay A. Perman, MD, who left 海角官方首页 to serve as chancellor of the University System of Maryland.
The appointment as president was the latest in a long line of upward moves by Dr. Jarrell at 海角官方首页, where he has served as chief academic and research officer, senior vice president, executive vice president, and dean of the Graduate School.
